Migrating from one telephone system to another is no longer a big, compilicated job needing a siginificant number of working days.
When Pennine Telecom switched the Royal Northern College of Music's phone system from an INDeX 1000 to a new Avaya Communication Manager (ACM) it took just one day.
The college needed a new system when it opened a new annex on Oxford Road in Manchester and had to move the telephone system to a new location. There are 230 analogue and 70 digital handsets on the ACM. The system is Voice over IP (VoIP) enabled, ready for the college to use as and when they are ready.
Pennine Telecom has been the telecommunications supplier to the RNCM for more than 10 years. As well as providing their telephony requirements, Pennine also look after the college's two-way radios and mobile phones.
In an e-mail to Pennine, Dave Long, IT Manager at RNCM wrote "Thanks for the new system. It does everything you said it would. Everything has gone in on time. Perfect."
